so i made 3 of these albums in a week! they are addictive!
there are pages and pockets,and ribbon trim, oh my! they were so fun to put together.
i picked paper and sewed them right sides out along the top and bottom, folded them, in half and then opened it and zig zag stitched up the center...and tada, a book!
i made pages that pulled out if the pockets for hidden journaling or more pictures.
this one is from a baby belly session i did, and then i left half the book empty for them to add pictures of the new baby!
i used anna griffin paper and embellishments, house of 3 papers and some other random pretty things in my stash, and lots of ribbon!
the other two i made were a baby book one that was completely blank and a wedding gift one for documenting a couples first year!

you may have heard of christy tomlinson well she is a mixed media artist, and she makes some amazing art! taking some inspiration from her "she art" i have made 2 of my own. one for me of a preggers she for myself when i was pregnant this last time and this one i made for a friend of mine who has a baby belly right now.
so i think it turned out pretty cute...

hey how was your thanksgiving? since i have not posted since then? hope it was great and filled with lots of family and food!

ours was good, we got the kids all dressed in some festive clothes and tried to take some pictures for our Christmas card this year. if you have kids you know how that is! i can take anyone's pictures except my own kids, 1. i'm mommy they don't listen to me much anyways so when i say look at me it's no different, lol! 2.there are 5 of them, so eye contact and smiles all at the same time ha! well after about 15 minutes or so, and like 80 shots or so, i said okay we are done mommy will just ahve to do do some eye opening or head swapping in photoshop.

i didn't get to work on our pictures or cards until this past week...too many client work! good problem to have! after working on it here it is...

i used the awesome digital kit from jessica sprauge's site and designed by my MOST favorite scrapbooker the amazing heidi swapp

free thankful printable banner...

here is a free printable banner for thanksgiving or any other time you want to put it out and remember to be thankful!
just save it, print it, cut it out and put it on some bakers twine or ribbon! then hang it up on thursday, and if you want to get a little more crafty, add some glitter or ruffled crepe paper, maybe even some burlap flowers!

lucy's paper doll party part 2

so lucy's party went well and she had a totally fun time! her party had a ton of diy stuff i did. i thought paper dolls would be a hard theme to get stuff to match but i ended up with quite a few things to really make it personal and special!

i wanted a vintage feel to the paper doll party, so i searched paper dolls online and found a cute one that i think was from the 50's. i save the picture of it and then in photoshop erased the dolls head and turned it into my daughter lucy! i LOVE how it came out. so the invites, pin the sweater on lucy doll, and the favor were all made from that paper doll. for the favor though i made each of the little girl guests her own paper doll. so i put their heads on the doll, printed them on magnetic paper cut them out and bought vintage serving trays from the thrift stores to put the magnet paper dolls on. the girls liked them, but i think the moms played with them more than the daughters!

i also bought the snap bracelets from my childhood, they were not so pretty though, so i made covers and flowers for them...and we had some slinkies, old fashioned candies, and i also found little doll necklaces at forever 21. so i covered their packaging with some paper and wrote out each girls name like lucy you're a doll on it. i made wreath for the front door of the party location,i love how it looked! wrapped seam binding ribbon around it some tulle and put a cut out of the paper doll i used through out the party.

oh my goodness, there is a lot i did for this party, but what else is new, haha. i also had drawn, cut out and painted a paper doll dress and bow for the girls to hold in front of them for a picture, i made some cute party noisemakers with some icky looking ones from walmart, transformed into cute girly ones, so easy and cheap! made the garlands from cut out paperdolls printed from the internet and doilies., also used the same paper doll dresses for the cupcake picks.

all i all it was a good party! if anyone has any questions on how to do any of the stuff leave a comment and i can try my best at a tutorial!

so the bride was not a big fan of real flowers, so this was our alternative...fabric flower bouquets. they were beautiful plus they last forever! i lost track of how many hours it took to make 4 bridesmaids bouquets, a flower girl mini one, a toss and the brides...along with the boutineer's and mothers corsages, but the bride LOVED it all and that's what matters!

best baby food ever!

so i have posted about the best baby toy ever but now i am sharing the best baby food ever!

none of my kids ever really cared much for baby food, and i think it's awesome if you can make your own, but i have neither the time nor patients to do so. and i found this baby food while i was in manhattan in september...and my youngest lucy LOVED it! she previously wanted nothing to do with baby food...but this was it, she wanted to eat it and eat it and eat some more!

finally 4 months later we have it here in florida, and even thigh she is 1 now and too big for stage 1 baby foods...its is a great snack in the afternoon for her! not to mention the packaging is genius! you don't need a dish or a spoon, just plop it in a cup of hot water if you want it warm (not necessary, my daughter loves it right out of the cupboard) so easy so good LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

so i just wanted to share with everyone the best baby toy ever! all 4 of my kids LOVE to look at and read books. like everyone else out there as babies i gave them the cardoard books because clearly the paper ones will just be torn to shreds and consumed...while that is fiber it's gross. even still the cardboard ones while they do not tear they eventually do it get eaten it just takes a little more time. and the they just look icky! and your baby again has ome more fiber.

so the what is the best baby toy ever? well as you may have guessed it has to do with books...i found these at target and bought them for my youngest, and then after she tried everything she could to tear,eat,dissolve,rip,eat the books she couldn't and she LOVES the pictures and wonderful colors (and they are washable)! i have now also bought them as baby shower gifts and i tell everyone about them!

I said when I started this blog up again that I would be a good blog mommy but alas here I am hardly ever posting! Not that a ton of people read this but I would *love* for a ton of people to read this!

So school has once again begun and our oldest is in the 2nd grade...I am pretty sure he was just a little guy trying to toddle around our house...but no that was several years ago. Our youngest 3 are still home with me...at least for a few more years.
Currently I am planning our baby"s 1st birthday party. I can not believe she is going to be 1 seriously where does that 1st year go!? I am so excited about her party the theme is a mix of vintage/parisian/pink and black goodness! Hopefully it will all turn out like I see it in my head! I have been busy making decorations and favors and other stuff. I do need to work on her 1st year album I am be*hind on that I think I have like 300 pictures to print and scrap! Oy!

I have been busy all summer with my 4 wonderful (sometimes) kiddies...plus one for a few months (babysitting for a friend)...but now that's all over except my kids of course. The next fun thing I have coming up is a trip to nyc to take my sister in laws maternity pictures! My sister and my youngest will being going with...I am so excited! Plus I will get to do lucy's 11 month pictures there which I will be using for her bday invites.

So that's what's happening around my place...how about yours? What did you do all summer?

so i found these pictures the other day from last month...i had forgotten about them. this was before ethan gave up his nap...one day i put him in his bed and told him to go to sleep, and i left the room. a little bit later i went back in to make sure he was in his bed and sleeping...well he was not in bed but i heard snoring so i looked up in isaac's bed...not there...looked in the closet...not there...looked under ethan's bed...aha there he is, along with like a billion toys....and this is what it looked like...
